The Desert Reef Hot Spring is a unique facility located in the secluded and scenic foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in Florence, Colorado, which is also known as Royal Gorge Country.

It is about a 45 minute drive from Colorado Springs and 1.5 hours from Denver.

The desert that surrounds the hot spring facility is spectacular with unobstructed mountain views and almost continuous sunshine. Even in the winter months, temperatures are often mild and the days sunny.

The hot spring pool is graced with a dramatic waterfall and has been acclaimed by many users as the finest, most beautiful and most comfortable hot spring pool in Colorado.

Surrounded by a large deck for sunning, the pool itself has a gentle slope on the bottom so the transition from shallow to deepest area is smooth and predictable. The water temperature is regulated to ensure a comfortable experience in any season.

The mineral content of the water is mostly calcium with no sulfur or disagreeable smell.

The Desert Reef Hot Spring is a family-oriented open and usable year round and is one of only a few hot springs iin Colorado that offers a setting for swimsuit optional sunning and bathing. It is comparable to a swimsuit optional beach such as would be expected in Europe or on certain west coast beaches, where one may wear a suit or not, as is comfortable and personally acceptable.
